How To Apply Luxíq
How To Apply Luxíq
1. Break the tiny plastic piece at the base of the nozzle by gently pushing back (away from the piece) on the nozzle.

2. Turn the can upside down, press nozzle, and squirt a small amount of Luxíq into the cap (the Luxíq cap holds approximately 2.4 grams), or onto a saucer or other cool surface. Once dispensed, use your fingers to apply the medication to the affected area.

  • Do not dispense Luxíq into your hands because it will begin to melt.
  • If your fingers are warm, rinse them in cold water first (be sure to dry your fingers thoroughly before handling the medication).
  • The exact amount of Luxíq you need will vary according to the size of the affected area(s).
    • A small fingertip dollop, about the size of a pea (as pictured below), can spread to cover an area or lesion approximately equivalent to the size of the back of your hand.
    • For example, less than 1 fingertip dollop easily covers this psoriatic lesion located behind the ear.
3. Gently massage Luxíq into the affected areas until the medication disappears.

  • When applying Luxíq to hairy areas, move the hair away and apply Luxíq directly to the affected area.
  • If you have long hair, it may be helpful to move hair away with clips or a comb.
  • Hair should be dry or towel-dried before applying Luxíq to the scalp.
  • Be sure to keep Luxíq away from your eyes. If the medication gets in your eyes rinse them well with cold water right away. If eye irritation continues, contact your doctor.
4. Wash your hands immediately after applying Luxíq and discard any unused medication.
5. Important Safety Notes
  • Keep Luxíq and all medicines out of the reach of children.
  • Store the can at room temperature 68°–77°F (20°–25°C) and keep it out of direct sunlight, since it is a pressurized container.
  • Keep Luxíq away from—and do not spray near—fire, open flame, or direct heat. (Just like hair spray or shaving foam, this product is flammable.) Do not smoke while holding or using the can. Keep it away from lighters, matches, and all other ignition sources. Do not puncture or burn the can, and never throw it in a fire—even if empty.
  • When you have finished your full treatment, dispose of the can safely. The completely empty can is recyclable.
  • Do not use the product after the expiration date shown on the base of the can.
  • Do not give Luxíq to anyone else, even if their symptoms appear to be similar to yours. Your doctor has prescribed this medicine for your use only.
  • Systemic absorption of topical corticosteroids has produced reversible adrenal suppression, manifestations of Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia, and glucosuria in some patients.
